I saw an ad on MTV at 3 am. Enough said. All I can suggest is really look around first. There are better alternatives, it sometimes take a bit of self-discipline, but it can definitely be done. And last, but certainly not least: SPEAK UP! Don't let anyone give you sh** like they did to me. You don't have to take it (I know that now). If an instructor is spouting BS, it's still BS. And consider the source.

Not hard to get in - but hard when you get there.

If you have money they will accept you-- pretty cut and dry. That how you know they care nothing about art only business.

I don't think that a college makes a student but there is a slight difference thou. The important thing is how hard a student tries to accomplish and how talented he or she is. But why not attend to a better college with better faculty members? My personal recommendation is any Art college in New York that have good reputation (by word of mouth not review or anything...)

Just apply, pay a rather large non-refundable application fee, and youre probably in, No portfolio needed. The non refundable fee will be used to pay the first tuition so you dont loose the money if you register for classes. It may be smart to bring a protfolio if you want to waive/transfer classes, you can save quite some time and money!

Applied online. Then they wanted money. DON'T BOTHER IT'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!

I paid the $140 registration/"school activity" fee to get in. There was no portfolio, letters of recommendation or personal statement required to get in (aka, no talent or proof of determination to be accepted). If you have lots of money, are going to be fully supported by your well-off parents, or are willing to work full-time while in school, then you will probably make it through the program.

It is easy to get in, just have the money.

it's open admission. anyone can get in. If you have talent and some work to show them, apply early for the summer portfolio grant where they review your work and give you up to the first summer tuition free with no obligation. They don't seem to mind giving away free classes to freshmen students at all. They are much more picky about who gets through their program to graduate and represent them to the world and industry employers with the AAU Diploma in hand.
