Marshall is a wonderful, affordable college.BrightPolitical Science
Marshall is a wonderful, affordable college. Some students feel the community around Marshall is unsafe and so is campus, but statistically marshall and the community around campus have some of the lowest rates of crime in the country. The community is wonderful, it has 1 rough area but Huntington is a great place to be. SHopping, eating, clubbing, nature, sports, entertainment, etc. it has it all. The town comes alive every weekend, so many events going on a ll the time, people who are bored aren't looking for events. The city and marshall have year round events and stays fairly busy. The summer and fall time has tons of events, fairs, festivals, etc. Such a fun and beautiful place to be!

Question
I'm a Third Generation alumni from the Huntington
I'm a Third Generation alumni from the Huntington Area and I love the University. The Faculty are very helpful and a lot of down to earth students that work hard and are willing to help their peers. However you an Administration and Benefactors that have little to no appreciation for their hardworking faculty and students, building new buildings, raising tuition, and being subject to constant state budget cuts. Money that could be going towards faculty retention and scholarships to make school more affordable is going to pay for things like athletics (49% of their budget). Also an engineering school in which I believe is with good intentions but a bad financial decision for the university. In the end Marshall is a great place to be with a very accessible campus and faculty that is more than willing to help you. You may feel like some are giving you a hard time to be hateful but they want to help you. The administration could really careless and some students feel more like sources of income than actual students. Other than the Science, Engineering; and Med School and the athletics the Administration have no genuine appreciation for any other aspect of the University. There are cheaper and smaller schools with the same quality education. You'll get a good education here that will send you great places, that great education is expensive here.

The staff is very rude.AverageBusiness - Management and Administration
The staff is very rude. Every person that I have been around that was suppose to be helpful was really ignorant. The staff need better attitudes.
